I just returned from Woodstock NY where i recorded Catherine Irwin’s new LP at ON-ME sound.

it comes out in october on Thrill Jockey Records, and its the best.

and

Vanessa Renwick’s video MEDUSA SMACK will be at the Portland Biennial March 31 thru the end of May.

i did the score and you should go see it during its run.

in autumn i usually take to the road and go.

this year im staying in portland to work on ideas and projects that can happen while in one place.

working on new and old music.

NOVEMBER 4- DEAD ROADS MAKE NICE MEADOWS – 6pm at PNCA sculpture gallery.  Me and the other residents of the Signal Fire outpost residency this summer are doing a show of videos, visual art, and music.  ill be contributing all three.

anyhow

im about to spend a week in a tent without electricity/phone/internet.  its an artist residency program thought up and executed by the people at signal fire. 12×12 foot tent in the mt. hood national forest. full reporting on what happens soon, here, and at a gallery somewhere in portland this fall, alongside the 7 other artists participating. check back. send good vibes.

and

things in the works and on the way include a media portal here that allows people to get a high quality download of unreleased or tour cdr musics by me and my friends.  its probably gonna be a pay what you want thing. there will probably be a bonus for actually buying. check back in a month or so for that.

happy summer

it took a while to take hold here in oregon. now its on and im done with international touring for the year.

this season is devoted to some projects that dont involve much live performance.  there are a few engagements though, see below…

also, im finishing up the soundtrack for makino taskashi’s new work inter view.  he tells me it will be showing in festivals and museums ALL OVER THE WORLD. maybe you will see it somewhere…

and

i hope to soon finish mixing the long awaited record by nikaido kazumi and myself. (this was made possible in part by a grant from RACC. thanks RACC)
